Marin Patenaude and Ben Rogalsky take on the fourth Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton album “Porter Wayne and Dolly Rebecca”, in its entirety. Featuring an 8 piece band and a loving attention to detail with these classic country duets, Marin and Ben continue their project to perform every one of Porter & Dolly’s iconic albums.
Come explore these deep cuts with us, from the hauntingly beautiful to the downright weird, as we unpack the original album arrangements and bring them to life live on stage.
The band features Noah Walker on b-bender Telecaster guitar, Tom Hammel on pedal steel, June Mirochnik on drums, Alison Jenkins on piano/accordion/vocals, Kathleen Nisbet on fiddle/vocals, and Steve Charles on bass/vocals. Far too many people to fit on the Heatley’s stage, so come early to get a seat!
“Porter Wayne and Dolly Rebecca”” was originally released in March 1970 and spent 25 weeks on the US country charts, peaking at #4. It contains their gorgeous heartbreaker “Just Someone I Used To Know”, and the maudlin time capsule of a cautionary tale “Mendy Never Sleeps” where a teenager wearing hair straight and long leads inevitably to death, with a doleful monologue along the way. Watch out folks.
Joined by Cole Schmidt (guitar) Trent Freeman (violin), Leon Power (mandolin), Patrick Metzger (bass)
